DFA Progressive Values group name change to Empathy Cafe.

Greetings
The DFA What are Progressive Values? group
has not had much activity for some time. I wanted to let you know I've just
changed the group name to Empathy Cafe.
http://democracyforamerica.com/groups/2285-empathy-cafe
From my work of interviewing people about
progressive values I've come to see empathy as a core progressive value. It's
also the value that Obama ran on. See this compilation video I made from Obama's
speeches on empathy.
http://progressivespirit.com/Empathy/Obama/ObamaOnEmpathy.htm
So with that in mind I've been refocusing my work
on supporting Obama's call for standing in each other's shoes. Below is
some of the work we've been doing. More to come shortly.

I wanted to let you know the video of the June 25th Empathy Healthcare Cafe is now online. I've created a 10 minute overview video of the Cafe. If you want to see more detail, there are 13 other clips of the event on Youtube as well. Please do forward the link to anyone that may be interested in viewing it. The overview video is located here:

We had a great Public Option NOW Healthcare Rally at Senator Nelson's Coral Gables Office on Thursday, July 9th at Senator Bill Nelson's Coral Gables office with 60 people from SEIU, AFL-CIO, MoveOn, OFA, DFAM, and Democracia and made CBS4 News with Michael Williams: "Intense Healthcare Debate Sparks Rally In Fla." http://cbs4.com/video/?id=79340@wfor.dayport.com.

Also, we had 10 counter-protesters from the South Florida Tea Party, (their website at: www.NOGovernmentHealthcare.com.) Their website starts with "NO" and that's the only thing the Republican Party stands for these days.
We will meet again outside Senator Bill Nelson's Coral Gables office at 2925 Salzedo Street at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, August 13th. We rallied for: "A strong public option must meet four key criteria: it should be national, available to anyone, ready on day one, and publicly run. No weak half-measures--like the regional, private co-op plan--are acceptable."
